ABOUT ME

My name is VERA.

I am Mexican by blood and upbringing, born in the USA, mother of two beautiful girls and I have lived in Fresno, California for a short time.

I studied in Mexico a bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Techniques oriented to mass media and I consider that my photographic work is the result of my technical skills developed during my career, linked to my life experience in all aspects.

I feel fortunate to have a natural sensitivity that I have developed over the years in the arts, being a stage dancer of contemporary dance and a teacher of other disciplines of the body.

My experience as a mother definitely also contributes positively to beautifully empathizing with everyday and spontaneous situations during my work.

I started this independent project as a children and family photographer in 2013, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Since then, I have also documented important family events and ceremonies such as Weddings and Baptisms.

During the time that I have captured moments, I have observed that photo sessions are a good pretext and opportunity to live a beautiful experience of family interaction and coexistence.

There is no doubt that souvenir images will perhaps transcend generations and will make us connect with very valuable and essential feelings when we see them.

My interest in photography goes beyond the aesthetics and memories that can be captured by the lens.

Rather, I see the sessions as a unique opportunity that brings to the surface who we really are as human beings.

Such experience aids in valuing how we relate with our own selves and the warmth with which our lives are shared with others.
